Participating in artistic practice is often thought of as an escape; a means of relief from the rigors of modern life. But what if the opposite were true? What if participating in art is forging a channel to our higher selves and the divine that resides in all of us? Could it be an arrival, rather than an escape?
This is how I began my e-zine Art Magick for Witches eight years ago. I’d all but forgotten this little project and it appeared as I was looking for something else or at least I thought I was. In it I talk about how we can use our creativity to develop a relationship with the divine as I had done through my own art practices. Over the years I have continued my artistic and creative work in many different forms and along the way lost somehow the spiritual aspects of it. This PDF, popping up in my searches reminded me that as we turn to this season of light and shadow, I should return to my creativity and its magickal gifts.
And I offer it to you with love in the hope that it will land and resonate.
