The Power in Creativity

Here in the UK we are experiencing a significant arctic blast. Freezing temperatures and heavy snow have seen our landscape transformed. I walked with my family along the canal and we marvelled at the light filtered through the sparkle of snow frosted branches and the mysterious patterns on the frozen water.

The world felt magical and made new, a feeling that is welcome in times that are turbulent and confusing.

When there is so much destruction and oppression happening, it can feel like a selfish minimal thing to create. I understand that feeling. But creativity is the oppressor’s kryptonite. Creativity is how we rebuild the world. Guillermo Del Toro explains it beautifully…

Slow Stitching Workshop: Making Altar Cloths

With this in mind, I want to invite you to join me in my new workshop: Slow-Stitching – Making Altar Cloths. Over four weeks we will explore creating  a sacred space through ritual making. Through the act of creating and in the pieces we make themselves we will build a powerful magickal practice. It doesn’t matter whether you have handsewn before or not, this intensive course offered through Cherry Hill Seminary will take you step by step through every aspect of spiritual crafting. We will use embroidering and other hand sewing techniques to make an altar cloth unique to you. We meet on Zoom every Sunday for four weeks, starting February 1st. Register here.
